It has been preserved in sterling silver which allows light to shine through it and bring out its delightful hues. Due to its age, the surface of the sea glass has a few very tiny "c" shaped markings which form naturally as the surface of the sea glass is hydrated by the ocean over time. These markings are a characteristic feature of authentic sea glass. The necklace is wonderfully showcased on a shimmering sterling silver snake-style chain.
